About Russell Hart Career Coach

I started my career in operations before switching to sales and commercial management. On balance, I'd say I've had a successful career.

Successful, in that I've made the most of my abilities. I've a masters in emotional and positive intelligence, EQ+PQ.

I get how people feel and can see the positive out of every negative situation.

Early career

In my twenties I travelled and spent time discovering what life is about, learning to become an emerging adult.

In my thirties I solidified my learning and became more mature, married, and nurtured 3 adorable boys, who are now in their twenties and making their own way in life.

When I was in my forties, I sought out a career coach for myself.

I was at a crossroads and needed help with my future direction. I'd become disillusioned with corporate life.

How was I to balance my thirst for exploration and adventure with life's responsibilities i.e., mortgage, marriage, children.

The work included understanding my own strengths.

I remember the pivotal moment when I realised that what I really enjoyed doing was working with people on a 1-2-1 level. I'd found my passion.

Coaching, mentoring, and consulting, specific to developing people became an obsession.

I've always been an insightful listener and behaviourist. I enjoy close working relationships with others.

In my first stint away from corporate life, I combined an external consulting practice with mentoring small business owners.

I first trained as a coach in 2004 with Results Coaching Systems. I've learned so much since then.

I'm an accredited Gallup Strengths Coach and licensed to deliver Career Counselling Services (CCS) tools and methodology.

Personal life

I've experienced what it means to move out of my comfort zone.

I've been through redundancy twice, changed career direction a number of times.

Career paths are never a straight line!

I grew up in Australia, before returning to the UK, and then later in mid-life making the decision to move my young family to Dorset in the south of England.

We didn't know anyone where we moved too. Totally out of our comfort zone but the best decision we (my wife and I) ever made.
