About Russell Hart Career Coach
I've worked in the corporate sector for over 30 years. I started my career in operations before switching to sales and commercial management. I remember well the days of cold calling and chasing business.
I then changed to the other side of the fence and went into consulting and procurement. Having seen the selling situation from both sides, I'm a firm believer that we're all involved in marketing and selling, no matter what we do. It's one of the reasons why I offer training and coaching in the area of sales and business development behaviour.
When I was in my forties I sought out a career coach for myself. I was at a cross roads and needed help with my future direction. The work included understanding my own strengths.
I remember the pivotal moment when I realised that what I really enjoyed doing was working with people on a 1-2-1 level. Coaching, mentoring and consulting, specific to developing people became a passion.
I've always been an insightful listener and enjoy close relationships with others.
My Gallup strengths were identified as Responsibility, Relater, Empathy, Harmony and Maximiser.
In the case of Maximiser, the Gallup definition is "seeking to transform something strong into something superb ". In the case of career coaching, that would be my clients.
I first trained as a coach in 2004 with Results Coaching Systems, I'm an accredited Gallup Strengths Coach and also licensed to deliver Career Counselling Services (CCS) tools and methodology. I'm also a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
On a personal level, I've experienced what it means to move out of my comfort zone.
In addition to changing career direction a number of times, I also grew up in Australia, before returning to the UK, and then later in mid-life making the decision to move my young family to Dorset in the south of England.
If you're feeling at a cross roads or would value some independent support for your career, then I invite you to get in touch to discover more about career coaching, schedule a 30 minute consultation session.
